... read more Kiki has just completed her 6 weeks basic obedience course with Wee Boon and we highly recommend him! He really does take his time during the session and don’t rush through it. Most of the time our class would overrun. Definitely someone that teach with passion and understand dogs. He is definitely not the cheapest out there. But we like that his class is small.(2-3 dog per class) which allows him to focus on us. He would also give us notes after every session for us to refresh and practice at home. Always prompt and patient when we face difficulties at home. In class, he would observe us and the dog and guide us since every dog is different. I like that he doesn’t give us a standard template and would modify the training to fit us and the dog’s character. Eg, he would break it in smaller steps or going back to the basic if he find that the dog have difficulty understanding. Kiki love attending the class and would always rush to enter the door. She almost always pay attention and listen to whatever command Wee Boon gave. & The class is just using positive reinforcement only which is what we like. We definitely see a huge improvement and We also could feel that our bond with her is closer through the training session with her at home and in class. & one thing that I would always keep in mind for all the times I feel disheartened during training was what Wee Boon said during class, “All fault is ours, not the dog”.

November 10, 2021... read more I was looking for a puppy training class as I knew Sora was quickly approaching the adolescent phase and although he was generally well-mannered and obedient, I wanted to really invest in solidifying our bond and training to provide a solid foundation for him in the next stage of his life and beyond. I’m really glad that I enrolled in Wee Boon’s 6 week puppy class. Not only does he provide a structured way to gradually introduce and reinforce desirable behaviours to maximise the dog’s success and confidence, you can also tell he really cares about the dogs under his care and allows and advocates for time where a dog can be a dog. The class sizes are small so you can get individualised attention and feedback based on your puppy’s ability and it serves as a great intermediary environment between training at home where there’s limited distractions and training outside where everything is a distraction; as a result, the skills that are learned in the classroom and the confidence the puppy gains transfer over to the outside environment. In fact, the day we completed the course, I went to the dog park and practiced the emergency recall method that Wee Boon taught and Sora leaped between dogs immediately to make his way to me :’) so proud of how far my puppy has come thanks to Wee Boon’s methods and course.

October 26, 2021... read more I engaged Wee Boon for a private session to help with my cavapoo puppy George’s barking problem. George used to bark incessantly to unfamiliar noises and whenever he’s left alone in his puppy pen (even though I was just in another part of the house). During the session, Wee Boon taught us the different types of barks (reactive vs demand) and how to address each type. He also taught the valuable lesson of capturing calmness. After practising the skills taught by Wee Boon (who was readily available on whatsapp), I noticed a significant improvement in George’s behaviour. He became more relaxed and less reactive to weird sounds and is now affectionately known as a furry slug. George and I really enjoyed the 6-session basic obedience course that we just completed. Through the functional training skills imparted by Wee Boon, George and I have a closer bond and improved communication. George is behaved much better around the house and when walking outside. We love practising “mat” at home and it was a gamechanger to teach George how to “leave it” even in an outdoor setting. I loved the fact that George enjoyed training with Wee Boon so much - George used to hop happily into the school and he looked really excited to be engaged. George and I look forward to more training opportunities with Wee Boon (maybe in an outdoor setting!!). Thanks so much Wee Boon!! - from Furry Slug George and Geri

September 27, 2021... read more Rufus just completed his 6 weeks training with The Positive Academy, which came highly recommended to us when we were searching for a trainer to correct our furkid's behavior, and we didn't want the usual training schools that train using fear or choking techniques. We are glad to have found Wee Boon, who is very knowledgeable in handling dogs. Through him, we learnt to see training through a different lens, that we need to first understand our furkid's character and behaviour, and learn to motivate our furkid correctly through fun positive reinforcements than punishments. We also like that the class size is small (with just 2-3 dogs), so Wee Boon is able to pay enough attention to each dog and modify the training to suit the dog's character. Rufus enjoyed his classes and his behaviour has improved with the training. As with any training, we as furparents also have to play our part in doing our homework and constantly apply the knowledge in training our furkid to achieve good outcome😀

September 26, 2021... read more training was really about engaging our furkid. training was slow because Wee Boon the trainer knows that the kids are slow in learning and my doughnut is not exactly a boy that is motivated. thanks wee boon for opening our views and perspectives. it is a lifelong training and will continue to reinforced getting 🐕 engaged. this training is not about punishment. I highly recommend it.

August 5, 2021... read more Noodles has just completed the 6 weeks obedience class with the positive academy. This has helped us greatly as dog parents with our day to day interaction with her. She is rather aloof and takes her time to warm up to other dogs. She also tends to go into a panic attack when left alone. We are able to see the improvement in her over the weeks and she has also started to socialize more with selected dogs ahah. ( she’s picky ☺️) She goes to the daycare at the school once a week and absolutely adores wee boon and never fails to have a smashing time there! Wee Boon shares the live streaming of the class and sends us videos and photos from her outdoor activities. We r so glad that Noodles is having so much fun at the school ! Thank you everyone at the positive academy for taking such good care of Noodles 🥰🥰🥰

July 4, 2021... read more We had a session with a dominance-based trainer prior to landing on The Positive Academy, and boy are we glad to have ended up here and not the former! All I can say is that our baby had a scare fest from one dominance-based training session. Anyone resembling a trainer would put her in a defensive mode. In contrast, when we started at The Positive Academy, every “school” session gave her so much happiness. Whenever it’s “school” time she asks to be leashed up and led out the door 😂 Over the course of the few weeks we as owners also got to bond and build sustained attention from our dogs. The best part is, with WeeBoon’s expertise, we got to see improvements in ourselves (hopefully) and understand our dogs a little bit better through completely force-free methods. As far as she’s concerned, school always means treats and playtime with friends ♥️

March 28, 2021... read more 5 stars for the top trainers and the handlers from The Positive Academy. My boy (pomsky) who used to tug and pull and is highly impatient has become so much calmer, he actually waits to be interacted with now. The training includes easy to do and understand exercises (for both dogs and owners), these activities sets them up for success in a reward-based environment, it takes a bit of patience but it is 1000% worth it. Give yourself, your furkid and positive academy a chance! You'll see a difference!

March 27, 2021... read more You know your precious pup is in the best and safest hands when the school knows you by the name of your furries! Wee Boon leading the charge at Positive Academy has been the most passionate and dedicated trainer we have ever met. He truly cares for all doggies, big, small, naughty and naughtier. Oreo has been able to grow into a confident, bubbly and happy little frenchie since she started school at 6 months. Great effort is taken as well to ensure the class size is manageable and that each class day has the optimal mix of doggies who train and play well together.

February 4, 2021... read more I have engaged TPA for almost a year now! My hyperactive, demanding yet sensitive (somewhat fearful 😅) JRT attends the kindergarten weekly and I am very satisfied with the wholesome service, improvements and performances that my dog and I have benefited from the academy. There is socialization, various conditioning and training. My dog learns recall during their outdoor activities, plays at the sea shore and hiking instead of running off to terrorize/hunt! She is also so willing to enter the toilet for bathing now! Trainer WB asks constructive questions and gives valuable advice. He is very mindful of the dogs' welfare and safety and I can tell that he truly wants the best for each and every of his (dog) students and their owners. He always shares knowledge, skills and techniques with explanations (such as pros and cons) when situations require, so that I can learn along the way. He will recommend the best positive approach and does not give short cut solutions, such as shocking, using fear or punishing your dog, when issues arise. This is why I am very comfortable with his service till now. TPA's WB is our life-saver! 👍👍He keeps training fun, personalized and engaging. Through his guidance, I have become more understanding and patient with my dog's behaviour and strive to use positive approach in my daily routine and issues. It may seem a lot of effort 😂 but I believe it is the best solution in the long run! Most importantly, my dog is very happy with us and enjoy her training! Thank you, TPA team!

March 22, 2020... read more Is it possible to give more than 5 stars? Wee Boon and his team are amazing. When we got our 3 month old puppy she had some medical issues and we didnt realize she was deaf. They were able to help train her with hand signals and a buzz collar, and now you'd never know she has impaired hearing. Beyond great training and socializing with other dogs, we fully trust in the Positive Academy to care for our dog. That is one thing that isn't easy to find, they truly care.

January 31, 2020... read more it's really hard to find a trainer that loves ALL dogs (not just their own dogs), able to read dogs, able to talk dogs to dogs. All these are especially important when you have a puppy, like I have Beebee! WB have been a great help in socializing my little boy, work on his problems and imparting knowledge to the owner (me!). will never look for another trainer ever. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

April 6, 2019... read more Being a first dog owner, I was clueless about dog trainers and how to train a dog. I googled day and night about puppy school and dog trainers in Singapore and reached out to a few schools, only one impressed me in the beginning which was the Positive Academy who did regular follow ups with me over texts to make sure that Lexi my shelti-corgi pup was all right. The first day i got her, Wee Boon even came to my house to help me settle her in. Lexi has been going to school at The Positive Academy for about 4 months already and I have seen her grow and learn more tricks and be more obedient. Sometimes, when i get too anxious, i will text Wee Boon or Hazel at 2am to ask him questions about Lexi , and he will promptly reply if he is awake. I have recommended a few of my friends to join the school and they too have seen improvements with their dogs. The Positive Academy will always be the puppy school i recommend to my friends. They go above and beyond what they do 🙂

March 26, 2018... read more Wee Boon was my saviour when I first brought my 2+ months’ old puppy home. I was losing sleep with the mess that Max has caused. However, 1 visit from Wee Boon and he set everything right including toilet training. Max is 8 months old now and has grown to be well-behaved, thanks to everyone from The Positive Academy (Wee Boon, Hazel and Kevin). It is really amazing to see how all of you showered each and every of your students with love and care. Glad that Max is part of this ‘big family’. Appreciate the dedication and attention you have showered on Max.

March 22, 2018... read more Rocky was injured when he was just about 2 to 3 mths old, at an age where socialisation is very important. With a limping dog, it was very difficult for us to bring him around to socialise him. Therefore we approach many day care hoping that he can get socialised in a controlled environment. None was confident enough to take in an injured dog other than The Positive Academy. Training and socialising there, Rocky has since grown up to be a confident and well mannered dog. Wee Boon and team also helped Rocky through his anxiety of travelling in a vehicle within a short period of time. The team also entertained a lot of our weird questions even in the middle of the night. If you are looking for a place to train and socialise your dog, The Positive Academy is the place to go with their passionate team.

March 15, 2018... read more Initially when I sent Messi the Corgi to positive academy, i thought that it will be just another daycare to exhaust Messi. But after sending him there for quite sometime, i get to know Messi bettee with all the feedback from Weeboon and Hazel and they help me to be less "gan chiong spider" as a pawrent. Throughout this journey with TPA, Messi was showered with TLC with their positive training methods. They work on area that Messi had problem with and help to gave advice whenever we encounter probs w Messi. Its no longer just a simple daycare, its Messi 2nd home. Kudos to Hazel, Weeboon and Kelvin. Keep the passion going!!!

Wee boon is an amazing trainer and Harley loved his time there. April 11, 2014... read more I like the idea of training & boarding at the same time but feels it works better if Fugon board at least 7-10days at his place. Due to last minute urgency, Weeboon is kind enough to make a trip to my place to assess Fugon's temperament. He also brought along his beautiful 'Precious' mascot who is a little chatty but ATTRACTIVE!^^ I'm more thrilled than Fugon to have a little Sheltie girlfriend as playmate for the next 5 days! He provides freshly dehydrated meaty treats daily to replace Fugon's breakfast while dinner remains with his fav kibbles. I like his idea of using healthy treats as reward to train him without the worry of 'excess baggage' when I'm back! He has enquired what I hope to improve on Fugon & list out a schedule for him. He took efforts to send me pics and video to ease my mind while I'm overseas. Nothing beats better than seeing fugon in action PLUS safe & sound! He offer me tips and ideas on how to follow up even after the stay. From him, I realised I need to pay more attention on Fugon's hind legs. He has a little struggle to get up... Perhaps not only due to slightly long fur within his paws but his lack of muscles to give him the needed support. This is an important piece of news I learnt. He bathe Fugon before I bring him home ticks-free! Even trimmed some of his nails which he noticed that is getting too long.(my groomer didn't do a good job & mummy afraid to trim too much) He seriously feedback abt Fugon's training which I'm more than delighted to know. Nothing to complain abt the service which I believe is a disappointment to him...lol.. One thing I like to highlight is, he needs to keep his place neater for a cheeky puppy to check in. 😉 becoz of this, I plan to give him 4stars but as I think of 'Precious' decided to give one more! 😉 she is a plus point for him. Nothing beats a better boarding place than having a Sheltie lover as a care-giver(boarder)!!! Definitely will come back for another stay!

November 10, 2013... read more I am a frequent traveler and have to be overseas most of the time. Weeboon kindly took Fidele up for boarding for the worrying mum as he needed extra care due to a hip surgery and I had to be away for a week. He performed due diligence and care looking after Fiddy, ensuring that he got the exercise and mental stimulation he needed everyday. He was even brought out for swimming as it was advised that was best for recovery after a surgery. Best of all, he kept me updated with videos and photos! It was definitely what I needed during that crucial period, knowing he's doing great after a major surgery. I was impressed by the level of thoughtfulness he gave to my boy for his diet. What I did was that I passed Weeboon a week's worth of chicken thighs for Fid, it was his first trial of chicken meat and I obviously did not do much research. What a big mistake I've committed. It was quite a high fat diet and Fid gotten diarrhea due to that. I felt so bad that Weeboon had to deal with that for me. Without second thoughts, he bought beef and replaced Fid's meal for the rest of his stay on goodwill basis. It is known to alot of owners that Apple Cider Vinegar is good for dogs and it was given to Fid during his stay as well. I can assure all that Precious Lodge is definitely an awesome place for boarding with someone who genuinely cares and love your dog, providing him/her with exercise, outdoor activities and play! I must say Weeboon does beyond what is expected of all owners and you will receive your dear precious pooch from the right hands with a happy and delighted heart.
